Notre mission

Every piece helps reforest Madagascar.

Founded in 2016, ONG Volotsangana promotes bamboo as a sustainable alternative to wood — an endemic, fast-growing species that captures 30% more CO₂ than a hardwood tree and restores depleted soils.

Since 2018 we have operated the Common Production and Training Center (CPTC) in Tanjombato: a training centre, a shared production facility and a showroom, dedicated to the Malagasy bamboo sector.

Buying a Volotsangana piece supports planters, processors and artisans — and contributes to regenerating the land.

De la pépinière à la commercialisation — une chaîne de valeur complète, intégrée et durable, opérée depuis Tanjombato (Antananarivo).

Pilier 01

Large-scale plantation: securing the material, restoring the territory.

A renewable, strategic resource with multiple uses, bamboo substitutes wood in construction, craftwork, and industrial and energy production. ONG Volotsangana acts as a facilitator to consolidate and develop large-scale bamboo plantation, in partnership with the private and public sectors, decentralised authorities and, in particular, the Regional Directorates for the Environment and Sustainable Development.

Pilier 02

Training, service delivery & advisory support: the bamboo trades.

A training centre specialised in the bamboo trades, the CPTC holds the Activity, Competence and Training frameworks. ONG Volotsangana delivers training and advisory support to the sector's stakeholders — nursery growers, planters, artisans, processors, new entrepreneurs. Frameworks: young plant production, plantation, charcoal and pellet making, furniture and fittings, house construction, joinery. Services and advisory support: bamboo and lath treatment, lath production, glued laminates, design/innovation prototyping, and technical development of bamboo products.
